Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a facility that enables you to donate to the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh direct from your pay on a regular basis.

A Marie Curie Nurse speaks to a patientThousands of people in Scotland have already made a pledge to support our work in this way. Payroll Giving is one of the hospice's most valuable sources of funding.

How does payroll giving work?

Payroll Giving is one of the easiest ways to give to charity and what's more it can be tax efficient.

Payroll Giving is a facility provided by your employer that enables you to donate to Marie Curie Cancer Care direct from your pay on a regular basis.

For example, if you pledge £5 from your gross salary each month the cost to you is only £3.90 and yet Marie Curie Cancer Care receives £5.50.

The great thing for Marie Curie Cancer Care is that payroll donations provide a regular, predictable income for the charity, which helps provide care for people living with cancer in your area.

Why should I donate through my pay?

Payroll Giving is one of the easiest ways to donate to Marie Curie Cancer Care and once a Payroll Giving scheme has been set up everything is done for you. There are no cheques involved, no forms to complete, no letters to send and no postage costs, and your donations are all potentially tax efficient, which helps both you and the charity.

How can I donate through my pay?

Register now and tell us who you are, which company you work for and who your pay office contact is and let our Payroll Giving team do the rest. It's that easy. Alternatively contact your payroll office and ask if your company runs a Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme and tell them that you would like to donate to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

I'm an employer; what do I need to do to make Payroll Giving work for my staff and for Marie Curie Cancer Care?

The best thing to do it drop us a line and we'll arrange for one of our in-house team of fundraisers to contact you to discuss how Payroll Giving will work in your company.

The benefits to you as an employer are that you'll be facilitating repeated charitable collections without repeated disruption to either you or your staff and that you can take pride in annual funding for Marie Curie Cancer Care without any financial commitment on your part.

But it's not just about fundraising. You will be giving your staff easy access to information on cancer services and information in their local communities.
