About us
The Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh, opened in 1966 and today is one of the largest of the charity's UK hospices with space for 27 patients who need in-patient care.
The hospice, which employs over 100 staff, was the first to appoint a full-time chaplain in 1994.
As with the other nine Marie Curie hospices around the UK, we have adapted over the decades to meet the needs of our patients and we have gradually developed to become a specialist care centre for cancer patients. We look after around 500 in-patients each year as well as caring for those patients who regularly use our day centre.
Here in Edinburgh we offer a full range of services to cancer patients. Your doctor will discuss the type of treatment which is best suited to your needs before you are admitted. All care provided at the hospice is free of charge to patients and their families.
