Are you interested in developing your career in cancer and palliative care? Marie Curie Cancer Care has launched the Learning Zone - a gateway to online courses, and an information point where staff can find out more about accessing programmes of learning. All you need is regular access to the Internet.
Information/courses included within the Learning Zone are:
- Online learning - what it all about?
- Marie Curie Cancer Care's Management Essentials programme
- the Health Care Assistant competency based programme
- IT training, including the learning bank
- who to contact when you want information about study days and short courses
- a selection of library/information resources
- information on Marie Curie Cancer Care's own virtual classroom 'Moodle' which is currently being used to support our Health Care Assistant Development and Management Essentials programmes
- Access to online learning resources, for example:
- CancerNursing.org - provides free, professional online cancer care courses that aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of health professionals and anyone concerned with the care of cancer patients
- Help the Hospices e-learning services - aims to resource existing professionals, carers and teams with the knowledge and skills needed in their daily work
- palliative drugs.com - provides essential, comprehensive and independent information for health professionals about the use of drugs in palliative care
- and if you want to hear what patients have to say about the illness experience, you may find dipex.com of interest.
